About Black Cocoa

It’s most popular in baking as an all-natural coloring agent that creates daringly dark desserts. It’s often paired with black food coloring or gel, allowing bakers to create cakes, cookies, and more with mesmerizing black color.

Excessive consumption of dark chocolate can increase caffeine levels in the blood, causing increased heart rate, nausea, dehydration, and insomnia. Approximately 30-60 grams of dark chocolate per day is the recommended quantity to be healthy.

Black cocoa also contains no acid, it won’t react with baking soda. Be sure to use baking powder instead, substituting one teaspoon of powder for every 1/4 teaspoon of soda called for in the recipe.
